Care

MILANI CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Items purchased with platinum accents are dishwasher safe but not microwave safe. All other productS:s are dishwasher and microwave safe and meant to stand up to the rigors of everyday use. Sometimes gray metal marks may appear on your dinnerware. This results from contact with metal cutlery and flatware. It is not a defect and is easliy removed with a mild porcelain cleaner such as Soft Scrub or CLR. The cookware is also dishwasher and microwave safe. Soak cookware for 20 minutes to loosen any burnt-on food. You will have no problem cleaning your cookware. The perfectly smooth glaze will not leave a trace of food. It is so hard, you can use special cleaning sphonges and washing liquids.

COOKWARE CARE:
When you cook a leg of lamb or a roast, always keep a little liquid or sauce in the bottom of the dish . However, avoid adding cold water to your hot dish - this violent thermal shock could damage it. Add hot water instead. Do not place your dish directly over the heat when dissolving the cooking juices. Milani Home dishes cannot be used on a direct flame or electric ring.

COOKING TIMES:
The clay will store the heat before diffusing it to the food - the cooking time therefore has to be slightly longer than in a metallic mould (around 10 minutes longer). Once on the table, your dish will keep the heat long enough for you to serve and serve again.

Milani Home cookware is designed to resist in the oven up to 260°C, 500°F: Cookware is resistant to everyday shocks. However, should a crack appear after having been knocked, you should handle the dish with care, as this crack may turn into a clean break.
